Comfort Zone?
After a very fast 25 days of the new year, LMB and I are trying our best to find as many different ways to force ourselves outside of our comfort zones. It is no surprise that we all want to stay in a place of comfortable and routine. Stay as far way from the unknown or anything that puts us on the spot. Well, for us… that’s not how we grow.
This year we have pledged to get out of this comfort zone, and so far so good (we think). As you all know we have started Vlogging. You all probably can tell, but we aren’t very comfortably in front of the camera, but we are trying to get better. On top of that, we also recently took a trip to Loveland Colorado, as guest to an amazing market were we did a little Q&A, and ohhh-my-goodness.
We completely trust in Him, but have been shooting a few Q’s in hope of an A ourselves in hopes to really find our direction for 2018, and this trip has definitely provided us with a big ole A.
It reinforced us to keep doing what we are doing, and if the opportunity arises, regardless of how uncomfortable it may seem, jump at all of the paths HE has put in our way, and don’t look back… the adventure will leave a long lasting memory.
For this trip…
We met so many awesome people. People that made you feel like this was a local market around the corner, that you have been frequenting for years. For being strangers not only to the market, but the entire state of Colorado, we were met with an abundance of warm welcomes…
However.
Let’s stop at warm welcomes. Because the goodbye was completely different. It wasn’t the people or even the state, but the bitter winter weather that delayed us 2 times over.
We initially set our schedule to have 1/2 a day of touring downtown Denver or kick over to the mountains or the Stanley Hotel. However the forecast had predicted a pretty bad snow storm that was going to cut right over top Denver. So in an effort to get out before it was really bad, we bumped up our flight from 5pm to 9am on Sunday.
Sunday morning… Notification: You flight has been cancelled and we have been rescheduled to depart 9am on Monday. Being in limbo with keeping a hotel room, or running over to the airport and see what option we have, we quickly finished getting ready and headed down to the airport (hotel was attached).
They offered us to leave at the original flight of 5pm… We honestly thought about it for a moment, thinking we could spend an entire day in the hotel just relaxing… After some back and forth we took the 5pm flight back home (We missed Grace and the Gang).
So, we headed back to the hotel and checked out. Decided that Denver International was large enough to keep us entertained for 3/4 of a day. So we checked in and went through TSA.
Walked around, sat a bit, grabbed some food, and quickly started getting cabin fever.
Fast-fastforward to the boarding process (5:15pm)… Delayed> 5:45
We get on the plane. Thrilled to be home that night. Pulled the book, snacks, and drinks out. Go all situated and comfortable…
DING.
“Ladies and Gentlemen…”
(OH NO)
“We do not have enough visibility to fly in to Grand Rapids, and at this time we will need for you to depart the plane and further information will be available in few moments”
That’s, right. We had to get off the plane. Short of it, we scrambled to get a room back at the attached hotel… and found that our flight will be going out the following morning (Sigh).
We headed back to the hotel we checked out of earlier that morning, laughing at the whole day, and at the request of the hotel receptionist we share our story.
Out of the kindness of her heart, she gave us a pair of food vouchers for the hotel, and surprised us with wine and strawberries. Literal Angel. That made our day to say the least. Went to bed that night praying that we do not get delayed any more and get home without issue…
