Its Friday once more. For those military veterans out there, tomorrow is your day. Thank you so very much for your time and and service, to include your family. It is clear as day the amount of thanks we give to our veterans especially on Veterans Day, but if there is one message I think needs a little more emphasis, is that amount of thanks we need to give to the families of veterans. The spouse that is left behind for 7 month deployments, solely responsible for maintaining the house, getting kids up for school and fed three times a day… day in-day out. And to the kids that play little league or soccer, and both their parents aren’t their to watch their winning run or help keep them motivated after a tough loss. I can tell you the families are the coping mechanisms for the forward deployed. The evening phone calls or Skype’s; that’s what truly dwindles away at the clock of uncomfortable sleeping quarters, and the hazardous chaos their immediate surrounding. So please, if you are thanking a veteran this weekend, extend an offer of thanks to their families. And for those Marines out their, Happy Birthday!
It’s been a few weeks(months) since we have kicked out a Friday Farmhouse Favorite, so here you go. It’s crazy to say but the holiday season is upon us and soon we all will be scrambling for that perfect gift for the parents, siblings, loved ones, or friends. So I pulled together a few items of inspiration, that hit the full spectrum of price.
Arlo Pro Security System
This security system is quite amazing. There are a few different versions, but the one we have is the Arlo Pro. The biggest selling point for the Pro version was that the cameras come with rechargeable batteries. To give you a quick run down, this system is entirely wireless, and it takes longer to figure out where you are going to hang it. A quick syncing process at the base, and a two screw magnetic base, has your security system up and running in a few minutes.
Hearth & Hand | Leather Gloves
I picked these up on the launch of the line this past Sunday. Only a brief use of them, I fall into the stereotype of loving leather… I go through about two to three pairs a season on the farm, so these were a nice at their price with a RedCard brought them down even more.
Hearth and Hand Leather Gloves
Farmgirl Flowers
We received these as a gift. And my goodness how beautiful are they? And they smell even better. Their story is pretty cool, and if you live near their main office they deliver by Bike… umm… Cool! If you are like us and have a lot of close friends that just live too far away… Think about these, the quality and design is truly amazing.
Tenden | Apron
I hold this one close to the belt… (haha). Tenden is a local company, we had the pleasure to connect with this past fall when we held our Mercantile Market (Link here). Tenden makes a few pieces of apparel for both men, women, and everything in between. I have this shop apron, and since LMB bought it for me, I have a hard time taking it off. Along with this, I have the front pocket wallet, and Knit Hat, all top quality and I look forward to aiding a few more pieces down the road.
With the Holidays knocking on the door, we will try (again) to make this routine. I feel like some of my favorite gifts for others or even items I have bought myself, is from someone’s review. I have a feeling the next post may be filled with Duluth Trading items, as small little Grand Rapids, is getting one… so excited. We hope this helps give you some shopping ideas. Thank you again for stopping by, and as always… Give Grace.
