We have been keeping a little secret from you guys…
So Liz Marie and I are partnering up on a blog together and here it is… The White Cottage Farm. Craftsman Drive has been a wonderful platform to share some builds over the years, but its time to grow and evolve and share more of our day to day stories. As some of you may know, we purchased this dream of ours last year, and named it The White Cottage Farm, so it’s only fitting we attach a blog and Instagram to it, and bring you on our adventures.
I want to take a second to stop and talk about our blog and blog logo… How awesome did everything turn out!!! All thanks go to our website designer, Shawn from Bello Via Design House (here); and Kim Gallagher from GallaDoodle, check out her etsy (here). Unbelievable!
Here is what you can expect from the blog.
Those unique builds you visited Craftsman Drive for… they’ll be here now!
New hobbies we have dreamed of doing for years… And thankfully to farm we can take on now
We want to dabble into some lifestyle post and more videos
… and of course decor and remodels Liz Marie puts her touch on
Now I know some of you out there are on the edge of your seat with whats going with Liz Marie Blog… LMB is staying at Liz Marie Blog and sharing daily as she always has and, God willing, always will. The White Cottage Farm is taking over for Craftsman Drive, and we are throwing a kicker in having LMB share some posts here too, and we really think you are going to love it here.
LMB and I have been having a great time at the farm. We have started (big emphasis on the started–less emphasis on the finished), many projects already… and taking our time to really appreciate watching this house transform and grow with us and our style. We don’t know what God has planned for us, but we hope and pray that he plans on us being here for a very-very long time. During all of our projects we cannot help but imagine how it all is going to turn out, as well as dreaming of the days of many animals in the fields, vegetables in the ground, and kids running in and out of the house. We have already ordered our bee’s for this year, and I cannot wait to share that adventure this year.
Enough of the farm, I’m sure you get it, we are super happy where we are, and we look forward to bringing you with us on this journey. Lets get to that awesome bag hanging from the DIY hall tree. I would put Leather in one of those crucial guy categories, like baseball, BBQ, and leather… I have been on the search for a high quality, leather bag for work and travel for a long time, could never pull the trigger on one. Well LMB, who is too good to me by the way, surprised me with this beauty for my birthday last month, and it is absolutely what I was looking for, and its from a local company — Brother Leather Supply Co. Being a husband and wife duo ourselves, we truly appreciate where this company came from and where it is at now, all right in the heart of our downtown Grand Rapids. Primarily it has turned into a laptop bag for my work computer, but I brought it with me on my California trip a few weeks back, and its just nice to have ready to go-with a note pad inside to sketch out builds and write down project material list. LMB nailed this one on the head, and guys and gals out there I highly recommend checking out their site or stopping in to their store if your nearby.
If you follow LMB’s Instagram (here), you may have caught a few sneak peeks at the latest build, The DIY Light Hall Tree. This was especially fun project, because it was a bit over sized, and with how the DIY Ladder Light Fixture from last year turned out, I couldn’t wait to do another light incorporated build. I would say it was one of the cleaner looking builds I have done in a while, and I am very happy with the way it turned out. LMB put her touches on the style and we bring you this guy.
I did a collab with Ryobi for this particular project so if the step by step of how to build the DIY Lighted Hall Tree head over to my Ryobi Nation account (here). The Welcome sign is from our close friend, Feather and Birch (etsy). And the lights are from Home Depot (here). For more beauty shots head over to LMB. I really hope you guys are as excited as we are with this announcement, please-please share in the comments or find us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Thank you from the Farm.
